Mourinho Asks Ba To Stay At Chelsea – Why Blues Boss Is Making A Mistake

Demba Ba has revealed that Jose Mourinho has asked the Senegal international to stay at Chelsea next season, for some reason, and that he plans on taking up his offer. For me, Mourinho would be naive to think Ba could improve the Chelsea side next season.

Ba has never been a world-beater when it comes to scoring goals. Sure, he has scored a couple of important goals for the Blues, like the winner against Liverpool and the late goal against Paris Saint Germain, but his tally is pretty poor.

The 28-year-old scored just eight goals in his 29 appearances last season which is just two better than his previous campaign.

Only twice in his 12 year career has Ba scored more than 15 goals in a season, and that includes stints in the French and German second divisions.

He struggles to hold the ball up and his movement is poor and I am shocked that Mourinho would ask him to stay for another season.
