Cesc Fabregas has been hogging the headlines of late as rumours are starting to pick up that he will be playing in the Premier League again next season. The Barcelona midfielder has been linked to Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United in recent weeks, but I think the latter should be looking at another La Liga midfielder – Ivan Rakitic.
He is one of the cleverest midfielders that I have seen in a long time and could be used as the creative hub at Old Trafford.
Last season he managed to claim 10 league assists and 12 goals from his 34 appearances and created 78 chances.
He is a central player that loves to stroke the ball around the pitch and open up gaps with his distribution and in my eyes would suit United more than Fabregas.
He made an average of 51 passes per game in La Liga and was a huge reason why the Spanish outfit were able to pick up the Europa League at the end of the season.
In my opinion Louis van Gaal should forget about Fabregas and move for Rakitic.
