Chelsea Ready To Sign £60m Manchester United Reject And Make Him Top Earner – Why It’d Be A Good Move

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Chelsea are looking to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer in a deal worth £60m in transfer fees. The Express are also reporting the Blues’ interest in the France international, and have also mentioned that the west London club are willing to make Pogba the highest earner at the club.

For me, it’s the perfect fit. But before I tell you why, let’s roll back a few years.

Manchester United held the midfielder in their youth ranks and it was thought that he would be the future of the United set up. However, after running out of contract the Old Trafford side released him from the club, before he secured a switch to Serie A.

Pogba has just finished his second season with Juve – in that time he has played 89 games for the club and scored 14 goals.

The fact that United rejected a player now considered to be worth £60 million is sickening for me, as a Manchester United fan.

However, I think Chelsea are the correct club for him.

Placed beside Nemanja Matic, Pogba would have a bit of a free role and would be able to do what he is currently doing at Juventus. The 21-year-old scored nine goals from the middle of the pitch and was crucial to the club’s league title success – his fourth major trophy since he arrived in Turin.

He has the strength, the energy and the power to replace Ramires in the middle, but he also holds an aerial presence and will create opportunities for those around him, something which Chelsea love to do.

The freedom that Jose Mourinho would allow him would see him thrive, in my opinion.

Blues fans, do you agree?
