Arsenal receive massive boost inpursuit of World Cup Winne

Arsenal Have received a huge boost in their pursuit of German World Cup winner Sami Khedira as reports from Spanish daily MARCA claim that Real Madrid re ready to listen for offers for the midfielder. The Gunners have been long interested in the 27 year old but their pursuit has recently met a stumbling block. However Khedira didn’t feature for Carlo Ancelotti’s side at Cardiff for Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup tie against Sevilla and was not even named among the substitutes.

The player has a contract with the Champions League Winners till next summer but has repeatedly ignored talks about a contract extension. It is believed that Khedira has asked Real to significantly increase his wages saying he had an exceptional World Cup campaign, winning the coveted trophy with the Die Mannschaft, beating Argentina in the final at the Maracana.

Real however wouldn’t risk of losing the midfielder for a free transfer next season and are on the lookout for potential buyers for the German. Moreover the arrival of Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Luka Modric’s fine form along with Xabi Alonso’s presence in the Galacticos squad, Khedira might not get enough game time at the Bernabeu outfit. Chelsea are also interested in the player and manager Jose Mourinho has already suggested Khedira to run down his contract with Real and join Chelsea join on a free transfer next summer.

The former Stuttgart player is also not happy on the bench and the was looking quite dejected to miss out on the action on Welsh soil as Real cruised to a 2-0 win over Sevilla thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace. Moreover English tabloid Independent has also claimed that Real want to sell Khedira after a summer of extravagant spending saw them acquire the services of James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Keylor Navas for a staggering figure of £91m.

With Mikel Arteta ageing, Mathieu Flamini past his best and Abou Diaby constant injuries, Wenger is open to sign an anchorman who can strengthen the midfield as the Gunners look for a realistic title push this season. Thus its now doubt, its now or never for Arsenal.
