SHOCK MOVE: Arsenal to sell World Cup winner?

This comes a major shock for Arsenal fans as reports from English tabloid METRO claims that the Gunners might be interested in selling the World Cup winner Lukas Podolski. It comes a major surprise as manager Arsene Wenger has stressed the importance of signing a quality striker who can take the goal scoring pressure off Olivier Giroud up front.

However in hindsight Podloski no longer is guaranteed a starting eleven spot as Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and new signing Alexis Sanchez form the attacking midfield triumvirate behind the lone striker up front. Theo Walcott is set to return while Yaya Sanogo’s fine pre season form might influence Wenger’s decision to sell the German to perhaps raise funds for a defensive midfielder that the Emirates outfit need currently.

The report claims that Galatasaray are leading the race to sign teh 29 year old over fellow Turkish side Besiktas and several Bundesliga clubs while German daily Bild claims that Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg are also interested to bring the player to his native country. It is believed that Arsenal can sell the midfielder cum forward as they already signed Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona last month. Podolski joined the London club from Cologne, in 2012, but only made 27 appearances for the under Wenger in all competitions last season.

However adding twist to the tale is the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website believe that Serie A Champions Juventus are also interested in the player and want to beef up their attacking options before the start of the season. The report states  the Bianconeri directors are set to meet Arsenal representatives and will look out for a possibility to sign the player. The Old Lady prefer the player as a low cost option and would like to swoop as soon as next week. Currently Juventus prefer Podolski to Manchester United’s Hernandez thanks to the former’s European experience.
