Reports from the reputed and reliable journalist from Spain Guillem Ballague has reported in Sky Sports that Manchester United have almost agreed to sign Angel Di Maria.
The reports suggests that a £56m deal is about to accepted which will see the Argentine winger switch loyalties for the Old Trafford outfit in the coming week. Di Maria’s future at Santiago Bernebeu was in danger ever since the arrival of James Rodriguez from Monaco and the player also didn’t feature for Carlo Ancelotti in the UEFA Super Cup as well as the two legged tie against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup which Real lost by a 1-2 margin.
The Telegraph claims that negotiations for Di maria were reopened on Thursday night after the Argentine’s imminent move to Paris St Germain fell off thanks to financial fair play regulations.
Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague exclusively revealed the news.
“At long last there is significant movement in the seemingly never ending, ‘Will he stay or will he go’ saga of Angel di Maria. It now looks certain that he will leave Real Madrid and become a Manchester United player. The final meetings will take place at the beginning of next week. United will pay between 60-70 million Euros (£48-55m) for the player. More than 60. A great deal for Madrid.”
Earlier Di Maria had personally asked manager Carlo Ancelotti that he wants to pursue his career away from the Spanish capital. The 26 year old winger will no doubt be a terrific addition for United and was terrific last season for Real playing in a deeper role after Gareth Bale’s arrival from Tottenham.
Di Maria is expected to play out wide on the wings and will add great value to Van Gaal’s 3-5-2 setup at Old Trafford. Moreover his ability to run with the ball and his knack to go past defenders will certainly give the Red Devils a new attacking dimension.
