Manchester United have received a major boost ahead of their weekend Premier League encounter against Queen Park Rangers as key midfielder Ander Herrera has declared himself fit in order to take the pitch, according to reports from METRO. The £28.8m new recruit from Spanish side Athletic Bilbao has been out of action for three weeks with an ankle injury. Herrera however made his debut against Swansea in the opening game of the 2014-15 season which the Red Devils lost by 2-1 to kick start Louis Van Gaal’s managerial career for the 20 times Premier League Champions.

The 25 year took to his personal Instagram page to reveal that he is fit. Herrera wrote: “Training hard and looking forward to this next game at Old Trafford!” The return of the Spaniard would be a welcome boost to Van Gaal who is without 11 players going into the international break.

Earlier Goalkeeper David De Gea revealed that Herrera was training hard and would certainly make the squad. United have just collected a couple of points from their opening three games in the Premier League encounters. Herrera has been badly missed as Darren Fletcher hasn’t looked at all sharp in the middle of the park. Moreover with new signings Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao read to make their Old Trafford debuts, United fans could be in for  real treat should the players step up for the business.
