If reports from various English tabloids are set to be believed, then Arsenal are close to land PSG starlet Adrien Rabiot in the coming summer transfer window. The 19-year-old midfielder’s contract expires in the coming summer and the Parisians are reigned to losing him to potential suitors. Talk Sport have cited Sport Mediast claiming that the French champions have rejected Rabiot’s demands after he asked for an astronomical £4m a-year salary.
Earlier Italian giants Roma emerged as the most probable destination for Rabiot in the last few days of the summer transfer but any deal failed to materialize. It is now expected that the player will leave PSG on a free next summer. Daily Mail have however gone a step further claiming that Rabiot can speak to foreign clubs from January and Arsenal are keen to thrash out a deal.
The media outlet claims that the France Under 21 international has a keen admirer in Arsene Wenger, who has the habit of buying young French prodigies and moulding them into future superstars. Rabiot is yet to feature for PSG so far this season either after a public fall out over his lack of first-team opportunities with the Parisians.
Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in the player according to the Daily Star who have quoted PSG manager Laurent Blanc, “I believe he will leave, but I can’t tell you where. Rabiot has received a good contract offer from PSG but apparently it doesn’t interest him. It’s a shame. I think his entourage is taking advantage of his contractual situation.”
