Manchester United Receive Massive Boost; Can Complete Long Term target Signing

Manchester United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of long term target Kevin Strootman. A report from English Tabloid Express claims that Roma manager Rudi Garcia has conceded that the Dutchman’s deal is entirely out of his hands. Garcia dodged the bullet in January repeatedly over the summer claiming the player was not for sale despite Manchester United’s strong interest. But now he has finally indicated that he has no say in the matter.

Garcia claimed, “Is Strootman for sale? You’ll have to ask our president. But the intention of the club is very clear: Strootman is an important player for us and I hope he is available for the home game against City on 10th December, which is a crucial match.

Currently United have just 8 points in 6 games with only the Premier League to focus on. After having a great summer transfer window, the Red Devils will again go all out for top class players in January to ensure that they qualify for Champions League next season.

Strootman was bought by Roma for £15m last season and has been an integral part of the Italian side ever since. However his injury sustained against Napoli meant that he missed the World Cup in Brazil and is yet to recuperate to start a game this season.

United are in dire need of a central midfielder in their ranks who can add balance in the starting eleven. Strootman seems the ideal player who is also in terms with Louis Van Gaal’s 4-3-3 system but he will cost the Old Trafford a significant sum.
