Jose Mourinho has dropped a bombshell ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Arsenal on Sunday. The Portuguese manager revealed that he is open to managing a different Premier League club if the situation demands him to do so.
Mourinho said, “If it had to be then yes.
“I know football and know I won’t be here five, eight, ten years if I don’t manage to win. I don’t work in comfort zones – it doesn’t fit my personality.”
The statement might be surprising to most people except the Barcelona fans. Mourinho was a translator at Camp Nou before achieving success at Porto, Chelsea and Inter. He then went on to manage Barcelona’s arch rivals Real Madrid and broke then manager Pep Guardiola’s dominance in the league.
Off all the media talks, this may be just another of Mourinho’s trademark mind games. He usually starts to play the mind games ahead of big clashes and this Sunday will be no different. Arsene Wenger completed 18 years in charge of the Gunners and will hope that the upcoming clash will finally break Chelsea’s dominance over Arsenal under the Mourinho. When these two sides faced off last time, Chelsea demolished Arsenal by 6 goals leaving a sour taste among the Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger who was celebrating his 1000th game in charge of Arsenal.
The two had some spats last season after Mourinho called Wenger “a specialist in failure”. Ironically though, Arsene Wenger silenced his critics and Mourinho after lifting the FA Cup and the Community Shield in the span of 2 months.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal had good results in mid-week as they picked up their 1st wins in the Uefa Champions League. Chelsea have dropped just 2 points in the League this season and are favourites to win on Sunday. Unlike Arsene Wenger, Mourinho has a full squad to choose from which might be a telling factor come Sunday.
