Liverpool Player Ratings Against West Bromwich: Lallana & Henderson Land 3 Points For The Reds

A hard fought win over West Bromwich Albion saw the Reds get back to winning ways after a tough few weeks. Here is an assessment of the Reds:

Simon Mignolet – 6/10

The Belgian pulled off a couple of crucial saves in the first half. Relatively untroubled during the game, his command over crosses still leaves a lot to be desired. The former Sunderland man couldn’t do much about the neatly taken Berahino penalty.

Javier Manquillo – 5/10

Young Javi Manquillo had a rare off-game. Visibly over-worked after having started all of the reds games since the previous international game, Manquillo was caught out often when the Spaniard suffered lapses in concentration.

Martin Skrtel – 6/10

A solid performance from the Slovakian centre-half who was seemed to deal with young Berahino comfortably as compared to his defensive partner. Put in some key tackles and horribly mistimed one.

Dejan Lovren – 5/10

The Croatian centre-back had a troubled 90 minutes. Conceding the penalty and caught out of position far too many times. A shaky performance by the Croatian defender.

Alberto Moreno – 6/10

The young Spaniard slotted right back into the back 4. Providing pace and trickery down the left, Moreno showed admirable work-rate up and down the left wing. Still unconvincing at times with his defensive positioning.

Steven Gerrard – 7/10

If there were any doubters about Steven Gerrard’s legs, the Liverpool skipper showed he still has got a lot  left in the tank. Operating in a more advanced role towards the end of the game, the 34 year old showed flashes of his prime.

Jordan Henderson – 9/10

A Captains performance by the Liverpool vice-captain. Scored the all important goal and set up Adam Lallana after some magical feet shown by the former Saints skipper. His celebration at the final whistle just showed how much he valued the 3 points.

Adam Lallana – 8/10

The 26 year old just keeps getting better and better. If his performance against Everton was his best in a Red shirt, he left that way behind after his display tonight.

Raheem Sterling – 7/10

The youngster put in all the hard work despite being visibly over-worked over the past few weeks. His touch deserted him far too often. However, the teenager played his heart out for his team despite not being at his best.

Phillipe Coutinho – 6/10

The Brazilian is still searching for the golden touch that he graced the league with last season. Put in the yards for his team but lost the ball far too often.

Rickie Lambert – 5/10

The Scouser’s performance wandered between lows of mediocritiy and rare moments of genius. A very disappointing performance by the former Saints man on his first Anfield start.
