Well, well, well this is good news for Arsenal fans. After the Gunners lost to Chelsea in the London derby in the Premier League on Sunday, the DAILY STAR have come out with a story that will have the Emirates faithful busy in the coming days. According to the story, Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is desperately pushing for a move to join Arsenal in the coming winter transfer window. The World Cup winner according to reports has agreed personal terms with the Emirates outfit.
Khedira has already fallen out with Real Madrid after failing to agree on a contract extension. Though Khedira would be allowed to leave for free next summer but manager Carlo Ancelotti is determined to get some cash by selling the player in January. Arsenal have also been in dire need of a central defensive midfielder for quite some time now and Khedira would definitely suit the bill. With Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta not able to protect the back four, Wenger is on the lookout for a defensive screener in front of the back four.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is also interested to bring the German to Stamford Bridge but the 27-year-old has now set his sights firmly for Arsenal. Khedira was on Arsenal’s radar right throughout the summer but his astronomical wage demands of £200,000-a-week. So is Khedira the solution to Arsenal’s woes in midfield or will it be a non ending transfer saga yet again?
