Report: Arsenal Attacker Hints At Exit – Likely To Head Out During January Window

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has revealed that he open to a move away from England. Podolski has rarely featured for Arsenal in the last one year and wants a new challenge. The former Cologne man told German newspaper television Rtl, “I am a passionate player who loves to challenge himself.

“If I hardly ever get the chance to do that each weekend, then it means I have to change something. I could think about changing my club, but it’s a decision I will have to reflect on carefully in the next few months.”

It is rumored that Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in the German international. Current Serie A Champions Juve have made a strong start to their season under new manager Massimiliano Allegri. The former AC Milan manager could strengthen come January as Juventus will want a good run in the UEFA Champions League this season. Striker Carlos Tevez has been in superlative form this season with 4 goals in 5 appearances. Juve’s other strikers have found it hard in front of goal as Arturo Vidal is their second highest goalscorer. So Allegri could look at the possible option of signing Podolski in January.

On the other hand, Inter Milan have struggled in the Serie A so far after picking up just 8 points in 6 Serie A games hence the need to strengthen is imperative despite the good form of Pablo Osvaldo and Mauro Icardi. The duo have scored a combined 7 goals.

Podolski, who won the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player award in 2006, has been out of favour at Arsenal due to inconsistent performances last season combined with injuries. The 29-year old has appeared in 2 games for Arsenal in the Premier League and has 29 minutes under his belt. Podolski’s contract runs till 2016, and if his form continues to be what it is at present then his days at Arsenal will be over very soon.
