Liverpool set to sign Manchester United target with mega salary package

It is well since since ages that English Tabloids exaggerate transfer rumours for daily page views. A report published in METRO claims that Liverpool are set to offer a club record wages of £200,000-a-week to sign Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus. The basis of the lies in the story that the German midfielder who is also on the wishlist of Manchester United and Arsenal might leave his current club in the wake of the enticing offer.

The Reds are looking to sign Reus in the upcoming January transfer window but in reality it will be not so easy as it seems. The same tabloid further backed their claims suggesting that Dortmund are already on the lookout for a replacement and have identified PSG’s Javier Pastore as Reus’ replacement. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is a huge admirer of Reus and is willing to make the attacking midfielder as the club’s highest earner should he make the move. Reus currently earns £60,000-a-week at Dortmund and might jump at the move.

The German superstar has a contract with Dortmund until 2017, but a £20m buy-out clause is set to kick in during the summer of 2015. This means that clubs with a significant interest and financial prowess can Reus right under the noses of Dortmund. Reus is ecovering from an ankle ligament injury for which he missed the World Cup, but he will easily fit into Liverpool’s starting eleven should he make the move to Anfield. Reus has featured in 96-matches for Dortmund and scored 43 goals along with a further 40 assists to his credit.

Liverpool have so far struggled in the new season and its clearly visible that Luis Suarez’s absence is hurting them dear despite a busy summer transfer window. Arsenal and United are also after the player and it makes matters interesting if a three way bid is to be witnessed in the upcoming January transfer market.
