According to the latest reports, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is set to make a shocking return to one of his former club – but it’s not Arsenal.
AS Monaco, where Thierry Henry started his career, are very much interested in bringing him back and allow him to end his famous career in his own homeland.
Currently, Thierry Henry is playing his trade with American side Red Bulls. Gérard Houllier, Head of Global Football for Red Bull hinted that Henry may not be with them next season and he is still fit enough to play in Europe.
He said,
“At the moment no decision has been made, either in one direction or the other,”
“Thierry has not decided to end his career. We would love to keep him but it will also depend on him. He never seems to get old and continues to score goals. Could he play again in Ligue 1? Absolutely, no problems.”
In 2013, Henry openly expressed his desire to comeback to Arsenal, where he once reached his career peak. He was a part of the legendary invincible side that went an entire league season without a defeat. He has scored a club record 174 goals for the gunners.
Henry said,
“I would love to be around the game and – I’ve said it so many times – hopefully around Arsenal.
What am I going to do? I don’t know if it’s going to be coaching. I really don’t know yet. I’m trying to finish my career, which is something I have to concentrate on.”
The Arsenal fans would love to see him in Red and White colours at-least for one more time, but it looks like he is heading to France instead. May be one day, he will return to the North London club for a coaching role .
