Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at the Spanish capital for the rest of his career. Ronaldo was being linked with a shock return to Old Trafford in the last few months as the Manchester United faithful tried to woo him back with a banner.
Ancelotti spoke to the British press ahead of the Champions League game against Liverpool. The Italian said, “Everyone can be changed and replaced but Ronaldo is the best player in the world. If he left Madrid it would be a huge loss.
“But that won’t happen because he will end his career in Madrid.
“I am 100% sure Ronaldo won’t be at Manchester United next season. 100%. I can’t be wrong because he is happy in Madrid. Everyone wants to be here.
“The club is delighted to have the best player in the world. At the moment the relationship between club and player is perfect.
“So I don’t think that is going to change. Ronaldo will end his career at Real Madrid.”
Ronaldo has carried his brilliant form from last season which led to the Ballon d’Or ahead of 4-time consecutive winner Lionel Messi. The Portuguese international broke a 71-year La Liga record by scoring 15 goals in the first eight matches of the season. He leads the goal charts at the moment and just to give you a brief idea of his dominance, the next highest goal scorer, Neymar, is 7 goals behind him!
Since leaving for Real Madrid in 2009 for £80m Ronaldo has been in irresistible form but only won the Ballon d’Or last season for the 1st time with Real Madrid. If he continues scoring the way he is right now, then there won’t be any doubt in who will win the award next year.
Ronaldo will next face old rivals Liverpool in the next fixture and will lick his lips looking at the poor Liverpool defense who have kept just one clean sheet this season.
This will indeed be a shocking news for Manchester United’s fans as they were very vocal in their request to United board to bring back the celebrated winger back to Old Traffor. They even went to level of sending a plane to be flown over Real Madrid’s game against Villarreal with the message ‘COME HOME RONALDO’.
