Juventus attacker Sebastian Giovinco has revealed that he could move in the next summer as he has struggled to force himself into the main team. The 27-year old’s contract expires in the summer which could mean that he’ll move for free. He will have no shortage of potential suitors as Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are being linked with him already.
Giovinco has played just 176 minutes in four appearances for his side in the Serie A and revealed, “There’s something wrong, that’s obvious.”
However, he ruled out a move in January, “The whole season has been a bit like that, so we’ll see what to do. I don’t think I’ll move in January, we’ll see in June.”
The diminutive attacker will not extend his contract as he hasn’t featured as much as he would have liked to, which could force Juventus to sell him in January despite Giovinco not wanting to move. In that case, Arsenal and Liverpool will enter a bidding war with themselves.
Liverpool will seem like an ideal destination for the Italian international as they have lacked quality upfront which could make it easier for Giovinco to make it into the 1st team. With the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck, he’ll find it hard to get regular 1st team action at Arsenal.
The versatile attacker has been at Juventus since 2006 but has spent almost three seasons on loan at other clubs which helped him get the experience. Giovinco has scored 18 times for Juve in 127 appearances. The tally is quite less because he was used more as a winger but can play as a secondary striker to the main man. What he lacks in physique and height, he makes up in his lightning pace and trickery.
