Manchester United Plot A Stunning Move For A Champions League Winner

In the last few days, reports have emerged that Manchester United are considering a stunning move for Carlo Ancelotti despite failing to lure him in the off-season after the last campaign.

United are willing to make Ancelotti the best paid manager on the planet as reported by  El Confidencial with a salary of €18m per year despite the Italian starting talks of extending his stay at the Spanish capital.

Ancelotti who guided Real Madrid to La decima last season told La Repubblica recently, “I hope to be in the history of Madrid not only for la Decima.

“Real is very well structured. The members elect the president every four years, and he becomes a tool of control. Here, there is no tycoon, but a formidable management team. Real want the best and, consequently, the game gets better.

“I hope to be a world champion with Real. The Club World Cup in Morocco is not going to be easy, because of the probable semi-final with Cruz Azul.”

Ancelotti did not reveal any interest of Manchester United, but it is believed that they are lining him up after Louis Van Gaal’s poor start in England as a manager. Marca revealed that they are still interested in bringing Ancelotti after realising that hiring Van Gaal was a mistake.

Ancelotti was sacked at Chelsea despite having a good spell at the club where he did the league double in his 1st season in charge after winning the League and the FA Cup. The sacking took place in the second season due to his side’s sudden loss in form and a disastrous run which ended with no trophies.

Van Gaal’s side have slowly started to gather momentum after a succession of victories which has put them in the top four. While rumours persist, it would be somewhat shocking if the Dutchman is sacked at the end of this season.
