Transfer Blow For Arsenal As Agent Reveals Chelsea Star Will Not Be Leaving

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar has revealed that he hasn’t been in contact with any side regarding move for his client who will not be moving come the winter transfer window. He went on to add that Roma, who were being heavily linked with Cech heavily have not made an inquiry, “There has been no contact with Roma.

“Petr definitely won’t move in the January transfer window,” he told Rete Sport. The Serie A side wanted to sign Cech as their current number one Morgan De Sanctis  is nearing the end of his career despite signing a new contract.

This is a major twist in this transfer saga as Cech has been linked with a host of clubs after being restricted to just five appearances in all competitions this season. At 32, he is still at the peak of his powers but has found it hard to displace Thibaut Courtois who in fairness has been excellent so far this season.

This news is a bad one for Arsenal as they were linked with Cech in the last few months. Even Roma and Liverpool are also linked with the tall goal keeper from Czech Republic.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho doesn’t like selling a player to his rivals, but with Cech’s condition, he could be helpless. The Czech Republic international has appeared 479 times for the club and has 221 clean sheets to his name, the highest in the club’s history. Despite his agent’s remarks, Cech could move in January as the transfer prices tend to inflate in the winter; a factor that could benefit Chelsea. Cech still has almost two years remaining in his contract and could cost somewhere around £7m to £9m.
