Fernando Torres’ story since his move to AC Milan is set to go from bad to worse as the Serie A side are looking at the possibility of canceling his two-year loan deal.

Torres moved to Milan in the summer but has struggled to find the back of the net which has put his manager Filippo Inzaghi under pressure.  The Spaniard has scored just one goal in ten appearances this season and has come under heavy criticism for his lack of all round play as well.

The situation will not be ideal for Chelsea as they wanted to sell Torres after signing Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba in the summer. The former Liverpool man has had a disappointing spell at Chelsea after his big money move from Merseyside. Chelsea were yet to receive the full value for Torres but decided to sell him as he wasn’t performing well on the pitch and was a high earner in the team.

AC Milan find themselves seventh in the league and are five points off the last Champions league spot. They failed to qualify for the elite European competition last season that called for a complete squad overhaul. Torres’ signature was supposed to mean the start of a new era for the Milanello as everyone thought that he could finally recover his form back in a league which isn’t much about physicality, but despite that he has struggled to capture the imagination of the Milan fans.

Although the £150,000-a-week, star struggled for goals at Chelsea, he had a good spell there in terms of winning trophies, the main reason why he made the switch from Liverpool in 2011. He was linked with a possible move back to Atletico in the summer but was sent on loan to Milan instead.
