Manchester United Looking For A £77 million Reunion With 21-year-old Box-to-Box Star From Italy

According to reports in The independent.co.uk, French International and one of the world’s best midfielder Paul Pogba, who left Manchester United during the time of Sir Alex Ferguson after the manager refused to give the midfielder some playing time could make a return to Old Trafford after he made the top of manager Louis Van Gaal’s priority list for the winter transfer window.

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Sportiva reported that Manchester United could make a £77 million bid for the 21-year-old midfielder, while other reports in Italy suggest Serie A defending champions Juventus are after Italy’s Marco Verratti as the potential replacement for the leaving Frenchman. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who has 10 caps for Italy, has admitted in the past that he wants to play in Serie A one day. Verratti had represented Pescara in Serie B.

Van Gaal might also go after a goal keeper as Real Madrid step up their chase to sign David de Gea for replacing Iker Casillas. But De Gea seems happy to be Van Gaal’s most important player. Defence has been United’s biggest concern this season for which Van Gaal is working for a double swoop for German defensive pairing of Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund and Benedikt Howedes from Schalke.
