January Transfers: Turkish Side Eyeing A Double Deal With Chelsea

According to reports in Dailystar, Turkish side Besiktas are chasing Chelsea duo Mohamed Salah and Nathan Ake on loan till the end of the season. Besiktas, who are currently joint second in the table alongside Galatasaray are trailing leaders Fenerbache by just one point.

The reports also indicate that the two parties have held talks over a double deal and the Istanbul based outfit are very keen on acquiring the Chelsea reserves, which could help them in their title race.

Salah, who was signed in the last January window from FC Basel has hardly started for the Blues whereas Dutch defensive mid-fielder has hardly appeared for the Blues as he has only one start in his entire career at the Stamford Bridge with no appearances this season. It is quite clear that both Ake and Salah are not in manager Jose Mourinho’s scheme of things anymore and Besiktas are ready to pounce on this as did for Demba Ba last year.

Even before the transfer window opened, Besiktas president Fikrit Orman has said that he is willing to sign one more player from Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea when the transfer window opens.

He also revealed that he wants to get some players on loan for the second half of the season as he is finding it very difficult to invest in players and build the stadium simultaneously. Chelsea, on the other hand are sitting pretty at the top of the table and have enough options as back-up for all the positions. So it is obvious that Salah and Ake might not get playing time in England as the season is moving to the most crucial part. Apart from Salah and Ake, Chelsea might also off-load German midfielder Andre Schurrle to Bundesliga team  Wolfsburg as they are planning for a huge bid to land in Germany and Borussia star Marco Reus.
