23 Goals In 52 Games: Italian Giants Set To Steal Arsenal And Chelsea’s Prime Target

Italian giants Inter Milan are planning to fight off any interest from Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham for the signature of 23 year old Mattia Destro. The Premier League sides were out to add attacking quality to their already formidable squads, may lose out to Mancini’s side for his signature. Though the Italian international has been linked with a move to England all season, Inter may now finalize a deal with their Serie A counterparts with regards to his future. According to reports, the star striker is set to leave the San Siro and a swap deal could be on the cards for goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, in exchange for him. The former Siena forward, who has 37 goals Serie A goals to his name has just netted 23 times in 52 appearances for Roma, since joining them in 2012.

Though Roma have themselves acknowledged the interest from clubs in England and Spain for the youngster, no proper bid was not made for the Italian, till date. Now, with Inter prepared to make a deal for Handanovic in exchange, Roma would prefer to do business with them with regards to the sale of Destro.  Mancini who is currently back at Inter and planning a re-building phase at the club is keen to add this superstar to his side, to not just challenge the domination of Juventus in Italy, but make Inter more competitive in the Champions League as well. What happens next, remains to be seen, as the only thing that is certain at the moment is that the Italian’s stay at Stadio Olimpico may end in the near future.
