Manchester United has received a major set-back in their chase for star striker Paulo Dybala, who was also being chased by Premier League rivals Arsenal. Reports have now suggested that a bid made by the Manchester side was rejected by the Italian side Palermo. The 21 year old who has been termed as the next “Aguero” is similar to his Argentine compatriot in many ways.
In an interview, Club President, Mauricio Zamparini, has put a block to any possible deals happening within this window. He further said,
“Dybala is worth more than £40m, but I won’t sell him until June. Many foreign clubs asked after him, including Manchester United, I told the English side that he is not for sale right now, but we can talk about it again in six months.”
The club President added that he believes that the youngster will reach similar heights reached by Messi and Ronaldo and has rated him as being the “best striker in Europe at the moment”. Dybala has scored some very important goals as his goals have helped the newly promoted Palermo to either salvage a draw from a game or take all three points on most occasions. The superstar striker has made 89 appearances for the Italians and has scored a tally of 17 goals till date, since his move from Argentine second division side Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba. He has made a significant contribution in the recent success of Palermo and in their return to the Serie A. The Argentine starlet who also played a major role in the club’s Serie B championship success, wishes to follow the footsteps of former Palermo superstar Javier Pastore and looks set to make a move to a bigger club in the near future.
