According to the latest reports, Chelsea are now nearing a deal for Serbian starlet Danilo Pantić, who has caught the attention of many top clubs all across Europe. Chelsea are hoping to acquire the services of this talented midfielder who is the captain of Serbia’s under-19 side. The Serbian Sensation has made 18 first team appearances for his current side and has netted twice for them.
In an interview to Mozzart Sport, Pantic confirmed talks with two clubs.
He said,
“I talked to agents and they told me there is an official offer. There are still the two clubs to agree compensation,”
“I am very happy and excited because this is one of the biggest clubs in the world. The idea is to first join Vitesse in the Netherlands and then fight for a place at Stamford Bridge.”
Recent reports coming from the Serbian news outlet Vecernje Novosti have suggested that the transfer fee has already been agreed by both the clubs. It is a rumour though, that once the deal is completed and the player does make the switch, Chelsea may not be using the Serbian midfielder in their first team directly. Already the Blues have a formidable midfield and are currently placed at top of the Premier League table, 5 points clear of Manchester City. Jose Mourinho will mostly send Pantic away from Stamford Bridge and might be loaned out to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for the end of this season, in order to get him more game time.
What happens next, remains to be seen as the transfer window is still open for further negotiations, with other interested clubs, still looking to make last minute offers.
