“No The Club Doesn’t Move” Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho Dismisses Transfer Speculations

Chelsea have been going all guns blazing this season and have been performing exceptionally in the Premier League this season. Top of the table and looking good, Jose Mourinho’s men are looking to capitalize on this positive start to the season and clinch yet another Premier League title. The team as a unit has been solid and has barely conceded easy points, which has been a good thing. The summer signings have combined well together to produce magnificent performances a five point gap is maintained between the Stamford Bridge Side and second place Manchester City. Despite all this, a few players have been within the squad have been unhappy at the lack of opportunities that they have received to showcase their talents. Among these, two names which are quite prominent are German World Cup winner Andre Schurrle and former Basel man Mohamed Salah. Both these players have been linked with a move away from the Bridge this season.

Now, as recent reports suggest, manager Jose Mourinho has no intention of selling either one of them and says it would take a spectacular bid to convince him even to consider the possibility. Schurrle has played second fiddle to Belgian Eden Hazard and Willian most of this season and has mostly featured on the bench, while Salah has only made seven appearances. This lack of first team football has resulted in Salah being linked with Italian giants Roma and Bundesliga sides chasing Schurrle. When Mourinho to comment on these speculations, he said, “No the club doesn’t move, we don’t move, our desire is to keep the same squad. We are happy with the players, we are happy with the work we did in the summer to prepare for this season. It reflects the trust we have in the group and if possible we don’t want to be involved in the transfer window. If we have to be, it will be because somebody pushed us for that with some interest in our players. The question is to have a phenomenal offer and a player to be super keen to accept a new challenge in his career because we don’t want to sell our players.” Salah was part of Chelsea’s starting eleven in their FA Cup tie against Bradford City on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge, which the hosts lost  2-4 and were knocked out of the competition.
