According to the reports in Italy, Italian giants Inter Milan has successfully bagged the services of Dinamo Zagreb’s Arsenal bound defensive midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who is hailed as the “Croatian Xavi” by the fans back home.
Those reports also suggested that Brozovic will be leaving to Inter Milan on an 18-month loan which costs the Italians around $3.5 million till the next summer. It was also rumoured that the loan has a compulsory buy clause costing another $5.5 million during the course of the loan time. The midfielder has scored three goals and accounted for six assists in 26 matches across all the competitions this season including decent time for Zagreb in the Europa League. Arsenal are in a pursuit of signing a good defensive midfielder, the loophole in Arsenal’s squad this season. The likes of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini not doing any good for the team with Frenchman Abou Diaby yet to recover from his injuries. Currently Arsenal are having Francis Coquelin in that position and the Frenchman has showed some promise for the North Londoners.
Last night, according to reports in talksport.com, former EPL Champions Arsenal are scouting the Croatian international in the last one year, which also made their manager Arsene Wenger impressed by the Croat’s potential. But it was added that Inter Milan have now leapfrogged Arsenal in the race for the midfielder by placing a £6m bid.
