Chelsea Seek A Surprise Move For Liverpool Maestro At The End Of The Season

The Premier League leaders Chelsea, who have been quite dominant this season are looking to add more strength to their midfield with rival clubs looking to hunt them down. Manager Jose Mourinho has already accepted that his side need to continue to perform at the highest level, if they hope to win any titles this season. Now, with a view to achieve more stability and consistency, The Blues have a lot of players on their radar and wish to finalize a deal with at least a few of them soon. Currently, it is being reported that the Portuguese manager is lining up a shock deal to sign Steven Gerrard when he leaves Liverpool at the end of the season.

Gerrard will end his glorious 17 year long career with the Reds in June, and reportedly, has already agreed to move to MLS outfit LA Galaxy. The move will see Gerrard follow the part of his former England international team-mate Frank Lampard who left Chelsea, at the end of the last season. However, the latest reports suggest that before he moves to LA, Chelsea are looking at an opportunity to grab him on a short-term loan deal, with the new MLS campaign not starting until February. Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of the Liverpool skipper and previously had taken a lot of efforts to bring him to London, during his first term at Chelsea. At that point of time, Gerrard had refused to leave Anfield, showing his loyalty to his boyhood club which is one of the main reasons why Mourinho still respects him.

Apart from Chelsea, it is also believed that Manchester City have also shown interest and wish to make a loan deal for the 34-year-old talented midfielder. Liverpool have also expressed the desire to see Gerrard back at the club in the future, which could be a possibility too. For now, Gerrard himself would be focusing on the task at hand and not looking too far ahead, at what the future holds for him.
