Arsenal Winger Opens Up Regarding His La Liga Move

Arsenal recently sent their second superstar striker away on loan from the Emirates, this month. Costa Rican international Joel Campbell who was impressive at the World Cup, made a move to Spanish side Villarreal as a part of the deal for Brazilian Gabriel Paulista. When asked about his move to Spain, Campbell said that he spoke to Santi Cazorla before making the move to the Spanish outfit during the transfer window. The Arsenal winger will now spend the rest of the season at El Madrigal and told AS he consulted former Villarreal player Cazorla, before finalizing a deal. In an interview, Campbell said,

“Santi Cazorla is a great player and he told me how I’d find the club. He said that at Villarreal it’s just one big happy family. I’m very happy to be here and playing in La Liga. It’s a great chance for me to do well in the second half of the season. Playing in Spain is certainly special. I was lucky enough to play with Real Betis and now I’ve got the opportunity again with Villarreal. I’m ready to work hard and I hope things turn out well. My head is at Villarreal and I’m determined to prove my worth here.”

The 22-year-old, who was previously with Greek champions Olympiacos could get his chance to display his talent soon as the Yellow Submarine face Getafe in a second leg quarter-final Copa del Rey tie at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Thursday night. Villarreal have an advantage over their opponents having won the first game 1-0. Further the Costa Rican international added,

“I’m ready to do whatever the Coach needs from me and am anxious to be part of this club achieving its aims. I’m not sure if I’ll play at Getafe as that’s a decision for the Coach. I would, however, be delighted to able to help. I hope I play some role and it would be great to assist the team in getting through to the semi-finals. I sense that everyone is keen to get through to the next round.”
