Transfer Battle: Chelsea And Manchester City In The Hunt For Talented Brazilian Wonderkid

The transfer market has already linked with many big players to some major clubs across Europe and certain moves have been completed over the past few weeks. Money has been splashed to strengthen squads with the hopes of winning big titles, as the race for glory intensifies. Players have moved to new clubs searching for a new challenge or probably some game time under their belt. One name which has recently come up in the news is of Fluminense’s 17-year-old Brazilian midfielder Gerson, who is quite a popular young man, these days.

Earlier this week it was reported that bids were being prepared to acquire him by many major clubs, who wished to sign this teenager and bring him to Europe from Brazil. Current Italian champions Juventus and  Spanish giants Barcelona are monitoring the rising star. The youngster is quite talented but has yet to play in his home country’s championship, the Brasileirão. The starlet is not only wanted by these two giants, but  he is also considered a future prospect by some Premier League clubs like Chelsea or Manchester City, who are believed to be in talks regarding a possible transfer move. Other names in the race for the youngster are former Italian champions Internazionale and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. All of these major clubs are believed to be sniffing around the teenager,looking to gain the upper hand in this race.

Chelsea are on top of the Premier League table and wish to maintain that lead, while City want to hunt them down and retain their Premier League titles. Moreover, both the sides are on the verge of losing out a few midfielders, as they plan to make a move to new destinations in the search for more playing opportunities.
