Polish international Wojciech Szczęsny is going through a bad phase in his career at the moment, having been out of Arsenal’s first team, due to on-field and off-field incidents. Poor form was one of the main reasons, but things got worse when he was caught smoking in the dressing room, which resulted in Wenger making David Ospina the number 1 keeper for an indefinite period.
The Colombian has hardly made a mistake and has conceded just one goal since New Year’s day, which means Szczesny could be out of the main team for now. However, Wenger has confirmed that Szczesny will indeed start against Middlesbrough in the 5th round of the FA Cup on Sunday. The French manager has been positive that the Polish keeper will make a comeback to his best form soon and recently said some encouraging comments about him, which could imply that he may be reinstated as Number 1 in the near future.
