Manchester United superstar goalkeeper David De Gea has only 16 months left on his current contract at Old Trafford and has been heavily linked to Real Madrid. United fans are praying that the highly rated Spanish goalkeeper signs a new long term deal with the club, as speculations have been flying around for quite sometime now. According to the latest reports AS, De Gea, who is seen as Iker Casillas’s replacement at Real Madrid isn’t tpp happy with the €65m release clause Manchester United want to install in his new contract.
Initially signed for a fee of £17.8m in 2011 from Atletico Madrid, The Spaniard has refused to sign a new contract at Manchester United as long as it includes a €30m (£22.2m) release clause. The clause can be activated in no time, especially with Real Madrid chasing the Spanish international. Originally from Madrid, it is believed De Gea would love to replace Iker Casillas as the Real’s number one, in the near future. The 24 year old goalkeeper has been The Red Devil’s star performer for the past 18 months and would be a huge loss to a side, as he wins them games at times, single handedly.
