Recent reports are suggesting that Manchester United have agreed terms to sign Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi at the end of the season. The 27 year old Argentine center-back has been scouted by the Red Devils for quite some time now and was particularly under United’s radar in the last 12 months. Now, latest news coming from Spain claims that Louis van Gaal finally agreed to shell out cash and pay the player’s buyout clause of £36.9million.
Otamendi has agreed the terms that have been put forward by the Manchester side and is expected to leave the Spanish outfit in the summer. This would give van Gaal a major boost, who is looking to win some trophies with Manchester United and would also hope to secure a Champions League spot for next season. The former Porto man is a strong defender and could make a huge difference to the Dutchman’s side, with the manager not particularly happy with his current defenders.
