Chelsea have officially made a bid for Japanese international Yoshinori Muto. Kyodo News reported that the FC Tokyo striker has yet to decide whether to move to Stamford Bridge or not in the summer. The 22-year-old has 11 caps for the Japanese national side and has already scored thrice in four games, at the start of the new J-League season. Muto, who managed a total of 13 goals in the last campaign was also included in the league’s select XI and played for Japan’s national side in the Asian Cup.
He managed to retain his spot in the squad selected by new coach Vahid Halilhodzic, for his first match in charge last month and was quite impressive. Muto graduated in economics from Keio University a few weeks ago and has been scouted by Chelsea, as a high quality talent. Earlier, The Blues signed a new shirt deal in February with a Japanese tyre manufacturer, worth a pay of around £40m a year.
