SHOCK News For Manchester United: Midfield Target To Join German Champions

Reports suggest that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are now looking to make a move for Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan. Last week Dortmund declared that the German midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer, would not be signing a new deal with the club.

Dortmund already lost Robert Lewandowski for free and will hope to cash in on their midfield superstar this time around. The former Nurnberg star is all set to leave the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season and a move to the Premier League was one possible option.

Earlier it was reported that Manchester United had agreed a £20m deal for the 24-year-old, but German newspaper Bild has now declared that Bayern are ready to offer Mario Gotze in a part-exchange deal for Gundogan. This would come as a huge blow for Louis van Gaal’s side, who were keen on adding the highly talented midfielder to their squad with the hopes of winning some silverware next season.
