Reports from Spanish publication Superdeporte suggest that the doors are open for Nicolas Otamendi’s potential move to England now. The article claimed that once again many big European clubs were looking to complete a move for the Argentine international.
Super Deporte further added that Eugenio Lopez, Otamendi’s agent will have a meeting with Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez this week.
The Valencia newspaper thinks that Otamendi’s first choice would be the former European champions, though Jose Mourinho is keen on signing him along with Manchester City, United and Paris-Saint Germain.
The agent spoke to Cope in Spain last week saying that Otamendi wouldn’t be a Ramos replacement and stated, “Before Sergio Ramos goes, if he does, from Real Madrid, Otamendi will already be playing for another club.”
Well this would give the Blues some hope, who are themselves looking to add more quality defenders to their squad this summer.
