Champions of England, Chelsea are now looking to sign Barcelona forward Pedro, according to recent reports coming from Spain. The Blues were keen on adding more attacking options to their current squad, with manager Jose Mourinho looking to bring in some quality additions this summer.
Newspaper Sport further added that the player who recently signed a new deal with the Catalan side, is available for a price of £22m and the west London side will look to trigger his release clause.
With Turkish international Arda Turan’s arrival at the Nou Camp, it has now become quite impossible for the Spanish international to get first-team chances. Further Mourinho and Pedro’s ex-team-mate Cesc Fabregas have tried to convince him that his future lies at Stamford Bridge and the star should move to England soon.
Further Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has admitted that he will not stand in Pedro’s ways if he decides to leave. The clause in Pedro’s contract makes it impossible to stop him leaving the Camp Now even though Enrique made it clear that he wants him to stay.
Enrique said: “I don’t want anyone to leave but there is a clause. We have to respect his decision.
“I do not deceive anyone and I do not guarantee anyone playing time. It will be his personal decision.”
With these rumours in the transfer market and a deal looking on the cards, Chelsea fans seem quite excited about the possibility of a deal, despite a few dissenting voices as well.
