Breaking! Liverpool To Be Involved In A Swap Deal That’s A Win-Win For Everyone

In the Sunday edition of SportMediaSet, it was stated that there is a possibility of German international Mario Gomez joining Liverpool from Fiorentina this summer. Also, Itailan striker Mario Balotelli could be going the other way as a part of the same deal. The swap deal could go through soon, though the move might not be a permanent one.

Both players would be joining the other club on loan for the upcoming campaign and then decisions would be made next summer if the clubs want to retain the attackers.

Mario Balotelli has once again had a really poor season with the Merseyside club, since arriving in England last summer. With one goal from 16 appearances, he has not been the player that Kop boss Brendan Rodgers would have wanted him to be.

With Liverpool looking to challenge for titles and to regain a Champions League spot next term, Gomez, although considered as a player past his prime days can be the right man for Rodgers’ side to add experience and solidity up-front.

In response to the interest coming from Liverpool and Besiktas, the Viola (Fiorentina) director general said: “He is a great champion and can continue to improve.

“We received more than one offer for Gomez and we’re evaluating them with the player. The Turkish option? Yes, that’s in there too.

“Mario has a certain price-tag that is tied to his career, so we must find the right balance. If not, it means we’ll have a champion in our squad who we will continue to work with.”
