Arsenal Transfer News
According to the latest reports, the Gunners might start their season once again without Yaya Sanogo, which would please the fans at the Emirates. De Telegraaf reported in Holland that Ajax were in serious talks with the north London side, over a possible loan for the French striker, as they did not wish to spend big. Wenger on the other hand, wanted the 22-year-old to get game time, which makes it a great deal for both sides.
Voetbal International further added that the French striker traveled to Amsterdam on Sunday to visit the club’s facilities, with Ligue 1 outfit Lille also looking to sign the youngster.
Fresh reports from Spain suggests that Nacho Monreal is reportedly on the verge of leaving Arsenal after agreeing a terms with La Liga side Athletic Bilbao. Monreal, who arrived at Arsenal back in 2013 has become an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s squad ousting out English International Keiran Gibbs as the club’s firch choice left-back.
Marca claim that the 29-year-old, has agreed a two-year contract with Athletic Bilbao.
Also, Mesut Özil will be going nowhere this summer, as the French manager announced recently, with Serie A champions Juventus quite keen on a deal.
Wenger said in his recent interview,
“But the suggestions are created always by people who – I don’t know, want to create news, but there is nothing concrete in that.
“He’s (Mesut Ozil) an important player for our team and he’s a player of course we count on to continue our development and our success.”
“Honestly, I say I don’t close the door if we find a new player who can strengthen our squad but we have already strengthened our squad,” he said.
“I feel part of the success of a team is cohesion. We have a good level of cohesion and I think at the moment what is very important for our squad and myself is to see how we can move forward again.
“We feel at the end of the season, we have moved forward. I know it will not be enough. We still have to move forward again together this season and that for me is much more important than finding a miraculous player who wins you everything.”
Last, but not the least, right-back Carl Jenkinson has also signed a new five-year deal with the club though the defender will still be remaining at West Ham United on loan for yet another season.
