According to a report, Manchester United’s goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek has stated that a deal for Barcelona winger Pedro will be quite difficult to complete now. It was further being suggested that the club’s representatives were on the verge of having meetings yesterday to try and complete a deal for the forward.

The Spanish international has a £22m release clause in his current contract with the Catalan club, which he signed recently though he is quite keen on a move to Old Trafford.

Apart from the Red Devils, their league rivals Liverpool and Chelsea are still looking to sign the 27-year-old ace and a potential summer move is still on the cards.

Hoek stated that there several barriers in completing the signing and told Spanish daily Sport, “Pedro? We’ll see, many things can happen in the world of football, but it’s very difficult.”

United are not too keen on paying the full £22m fee and might consider making a bid if they can negotiate a cut-price deal for their target.
