Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez has been wanted by a number of big European clubs, as he has failed to secure a regular first-team spot, ever since Neymar arrived from Santos in 2013. Though the Spanish international has worked quite hard for the Catalan club, he has just been pushed down the pecking order in Luis Enrique’s squad.

It would have surely been a tough decision to make for the 28-year-old to leave the Nou Camp, as he has been with the reigning European champions since 2008.

For this reason, Pedro needed a lot of persuasion before he finally agreed to move Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils were in talks with the La Liga champions looking to complete a £22m deal for the Spaniard’s services and with Angel di Maria gone now, manager Louis van Gaal is looking to fill the void in his squad.

Further, the Telegraph, Pedro had a meeting with the United manager, who has promised him a key role in a new-look 4-3-3 formation, once he completes his move to Old Trafford, which would be something that the fans will surely be looking forward to.
