Talksport.com reports that Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano has given Arsenal and Liverpool a big jolt when he revealed his desire to stay at his current club. Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool are among few top clubs who are looking to sign Adriano after his stunning show in the UEFA Champions League where he has netted 9 goals from 5 matches after the end of first round.
Since the 2012 summer, Adriano has fired in 54 goals for Shakhtar as a result of which he has received some interest from these two Premier League giants, who are struggling with their strike force. Competing with the Gunners and the Reds are AS Roma who are searching for a decent replacement for Francesco Totti.
Currently Liverpool are without their striker Daniel Sturride and their other strikers Mario Balotelli, Ricky Lambert and Fabio Borini are failing miserably in front of the goal.
But recently, the player has made it clear that he is wishing to say in Ukraine for few more months as his contract is expiring at the end of the season. “Will I get a transfer? Nothing has arrived, apart from the interest from Roma. Shakhtar will decide what’s best, it would be nice to have a new challenge, but it would be even nicer to stay in Ukraine, at the club that I love,” told Adriano in a recent interview.
There were also some rumours that Italian Serie A defending Champions and table toppers Juventus are also in the race to sign the striker if they fail to land Montenegro striker Steven Jovetic from Manchester City. Juventus offered a €2 million for a six month loan deal followed by a forced redemption clause of €15 million when the summer transfer window opens for which the English Champions refused to agree terms.
