Daily Star reports that there are some rumors in Germany according to which Vfs Wolfsburg’s Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been targeted by EPL giants Manchester United. De Bruyne, who is having a fantastic season with Wolfsburg has attracted many top clubs and Louis Van Gaal’s men are very keen on signing the former Chelsea man.
Since the start of this season, De Bruyne has assisted for 10 goals and is one of the reason why Wolfsburg are in the second position of the Bundesliga table. There are some chances that Manchester United’s rivals Manchester City are also interested in him.
Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is taking these speculations as a result of the club’s overall performance and De Bruyne’s individual performance this season. He said that some top clubs like Manchester United are always interested in some top players. Those are nothing other than an acknowledgement for the good work done by us as a team and De Bruyne as a player. Hecking said: “It’s normal that clubs like Manchester United are interested in top players. That’s an acknowledgement for his and our work.”
Kevin De Bruyne’s manager Patrick De Koster too added spice to this when he revealed that at least three clubs are behind his client during an interview with German media house Sports Bild. “I know that a few clubs are interested in him,” De Koster revealed.
De Bruyne left Belgian side Genk to join Chelsea in 2012 and was immediately loaned back to his old club before undergoing another loan spell with Werder Breman. The Blues paid Genk £7 million for De Bruyne and sold him for £18 million to Wolfsburg last summer after the midfielder found it very difficult to get a place in the XI that has the likes of Oscar, Willian, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas etc. De Bruyne also performed well for his country in the 2014 World Cup.
