Superstar striker Alvaro Morata refused the offer to join Arsenal and chose Italian champions Juventus instead despite a lower wage offer, as revealed by him in recent reports. The Spanish international was rumoured to be on the Gunner’s wish list last summer but ended up completing a move to Turin instead.
Now, the player’s agent has stated that Morata actually turned down a better offer by the north London side, prior to his move to Serie A. When asked in an interview about Arsenal’s offer for 22-year-old, Giuseppe Bozzo revealed,
“Exactly, but Alvaro had made up his mind as soon as Juve set their sights on him.”
“That’s the way Morata is. I can tell you this because I know him well. He’s crazily determined, he’s got courage and guts. He’s not hypocritical either — he says what he thinks. He’s not two-faced.”
“He told me recently that Juve are one big family and that they are ideal for him.”
The Spaniard has currently made a total of 22 appearances for Juve this season and has managed to score 7 times.
