Premier League giants Manchester United have now on the verge of keeping hold of Spanish international David De Gea. Reports from the Express suggest that European Champions Real Madrid are now looking to sign Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic instead. This would mean that the Spaniard will most likely remain at Old Trafford and not move to the Bernabeu. The 24-year-old former Atletico Madrid keeper joined the Red Devils in 2011 and has made a total of 128 appearances for them.
The Spanish international has been one of the best players for United this year and rumours had linked him with a move to the La Liga giants for quite some time now. However, this may no be exactly what De Gea’s other half wanted to hear, after his girlfriend famously described Manchester as ‘uglier than the back of a fridge’ previously. Despite that, this would surely be great news for Louis van Gaal’s side who will want to play in the Champions League next season.
