Adel Taarabt is always close to joining someone.
But how much of the rumoured interest in the Q.P.R midfielder is true, remains to be seen.
Last season, the playmaker revealed that Manchester United were looking to sign him, and that he was the standard of a top-four club.
Not one to be modest, most people didn’t take too kindly to that statement from the Moroccan international, but the 22 year-old was instrumental in helping Rangers achieve promotion from the Championship last campaign.
However, this term would be the real test of Taarabt’s ability, back in the Premier League where he failed to hold down a regular place when he was previously with Tottenham.
And it’s safe to say he has failed to set the top-flight on fire this time around, with no goals from his ten appearances to date.
He is no longer captain either, giving up the armband to summer signing Joey Barton.
So perhaps he’s not going to be moving to a ‘big’ club anytime soon.
Although, if today’s rumours are to be believed, Italian side Napoli now want to seal a deal for the enigmatic creator, and Rangers themselves have instructed third-party agents to help find him a new club.
So now it’s less about Taarabt being bought, but the R’s giving him away.
And if they can get the reported fee of £10m, then boss Neil Warnock will be extremely satisfied.
As will Taarabt, but no doubt he’ll be on the move again soon enough anyway.
