Of course on Sunday , Manchester United travel to Loftus Road to play QPR. With that in mind it’s worth looking at these 5 individuals who have spent time at United and QPR in their careers.
Alan Brazil
After enjoying a successful spell at Ipswich Town under the late Sir Bobby Robson, Brazil a skilful striker moved to Spurs in 1983. He never settled in London and his form dipped. That didn’t put off Ron Atkinson who brought the Scot to Old Trafford in 1984.
Sadly Alan never settled really at United and after two seasons left to join Coventry City only to join QPR shortly after. Sadly he was forced to retire due to injuries at the age of 27 but is still in the public due to his work as a presenter for talkSPORT.
Gordon Hill
Back in 1975 United’s manager Tommy Docherty was delighted to have brought Hill to Old Trafford from Millwall in 1975 knowing that the hardworking and skilful midfielder would link up well with the club’s star midfielder at the time in Steve Coppell.
Gordon was a success in three seasons at United and scored some memorable long-range goals before leaving for Derby County. Upon joining he struggled with injuries and after a short stint with QPR he left to try his luck out in America, where he remains coaching today.
Liam Miller
Sadly skilful Irish midfielder Miller will go down as one of Sir Alex’s worst signings despite the fact United signed him on as a free agent. Highly rated at Celtic a long successful career in England and for his country looked to be his destiny.
Sadly he just wasn’t quite good enough and after struggling at United, joined Leeds on loan before becoming one of Roy Keane’s first signings at Sunderland. After two years he moved onto QPR but never settled and is now playing out in Australia.
Daniel Nardiello
Despite progressing well in United’s youth system after singing from Wolves, Nardiello only made four first team appearances before joining Barnsley in 2005 after impressing there on loan in two previous spells scoring 14 goals.
After impressing at the Tykes for two seasons, Danny signed for QPR in the summer of 2007. Sadly he never settled in London after another stint with Barnsley on-loan joined Blackpool before finding his feet in League One with Exeter City.
Paul Parker
One of the United’s most iconic full-backs, Parker began his career at Fulham as a midfielder. He made his name at QPR as a right-back and played a major role in England’s charge to the semi-finals in the 1990 World Cup under the late Sir Bobby Robson.
In 1991 Paul signed for United after impressing Sir Alex Ferguson. Unfortunately he struggled with injuries during his five year spell at Old Trafford but still won 4 major honours. He would later return to Fulham playing three times before retiring in 1997.
