Pressure is mounting on Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton as fans call for his dismissal.
Yeovil have started poorly this season, with just 19 points from 20 games. They are 2 points above the relegation zone and the odds on relegation favourites aren’t playing football that’s warrants a higher position.
Their latest failure came at Fleetwood Town, a 2-0 defeat to a side two leagues below them isn’t promising for their survival hopes. They put out they’re first XI with the exception of Wotton, and played no where near the standard that league one football demands. They were out played and out classed by a team of part timers. Fleetwood looked more up for the game, they were giving a 100% while Yeovil looked, boring, un-imaginative and dis-interested. Beaten and rightly so. “Skivo out” were the calls on Yeovil’s terrace at last nights game.
Yeovil had almost an identical start to last season, bottom of the league, and looking like dead certs for the drop. But Skiverton Managed to bring about a new year fight back, as the west country club managed an astonishing table climb finishing in 14th come may. But will he be given the time to turn it all around?
Yeovil face a relegation 6 pointer on Saturday, a game away at Rochdale. Then not so long after, two derby’s against Exeter and Bournmouth. This December/January period is looking crucial for Yeovil’s season. These three games could make or break Yeovil’s survival hopes. Get the needed results, and the pressure lifts, fail too perform, and owner John Fry may pull the trigger on Skiverton’s reign.
