Tonight 60,000 fans will head to the Emirates stadium to watch Arsenal. If this isn’t impressive enough, they’re playing a 3rd round league cup-tie. Still not impressed, they’re playing a team two leagues below them and they’ll be fielding a team mainly made up of teenagers who have a handful of first team starts between them.
The fact that the stadium is sold out for such a game is testament to the philosophy set up at the club, of giving youngsters a start in this competition. Every season Arsenal lower there ticket prices and let the fans come and see the project undertaken by Wenger to get the best young talent at the club.
One of the youngsters playing tonight will be Arsenal’s signing from Borussia Dortmund Thomas Eisfeld. The 19-year-old joined from Germany last January and his skill is clearly demonstrated in this clip.
