Arsenal fans are screaming and pleading for boss Arsene Wenger to make some signings this January, big money signings would please the fans even more.
So, what Mr Wenger has had to say this week might just get Gunners fans dreaming of a bit of silverware this season.
The papers are full of speculation linking every top player with every top club but one rumoured transfer target for Wenger, Edinson Cavani, was confirmed by the man himself “Cavani is a player that I like.”
However, when it came to the question of price it was the same old story from the Arsenal manager, “Will he cost a lot of money? That’s for sure. Nobody would deny that. Our banker lives just next to me at the moment and he is ready if we find the right player.”
Cavani, alongside fellow South American Radamel Falcao, can be considered one of the top strikers in Europe and the world so splashing out a bit on a man that has scored 16 goals in 16 Serie A games for Napoli this season, and 25 goals in 23 games in all competitions, is surely worth worrying the Arsenal bank manager if it keeps the fans happy and bring a few trophies to the club.
So it sounds like Wenger won’t be bringing in Cavani this January but Arsenal fans will be crossing all their fingers in hope that their manager decides it is time to land a superstar, especially one that can scores goals like the Uruguayan striker.
